“Sober tourism” is Gen Z’s newest wellness travel trend. Young travelers are swapping poolside cocktails and parties for saunas and wellness-driven experiences. We know that Gen Z is interested in customizable wellness trends and drinking less—and vacation seems to be no exception. A new survey by UserTesting shows that more than half of Gen Z travelers have become more interested in alcohol-free travel in recent years. But while physical health and mental wellness are motivators, nearly two thirds of Gen Z said saving money is what drives them toward consuming less alcohol on trips—making it the main reason. YPulse has told you that while Gen Z and Millennials are still consuming alcohol, they are increasingly opting not to drink or drinking less than years before. More than half of 21-39-year-olds agree that they don’t like going out at night because they don’t like to drink, signaling that the trend isn’t isolated to travel, either. (Business Insider)
