Apr 09 2026

More restaurants and bars are establishing phone-free environments. It’s no secret that Gen Z and Millennials are looking for ways to get off their phones and embrace “analog experiences.” And a survey from Talker Research shows that the majority of Gen Z and Millennials are intentionally powering off their phones when dining out. Now, restaurants and bars are urging patrons to go phone-free, too. Across the U.S., Axios found 11 states with restaurants or bars that have implemented a form of phone restriction. This includes upscale restaurants and fast-food chains like Chick-fil-A, which has some locations offering free ice cream as an incentive for going phone-free while eating. YPulse has told you that nearly 70% of young adults have intentionally unplugged even if for a short time, with their main reasons being to “reset” and stay focused. (Morning Brew)
