Facebook Jobs is returning with stricter rules and an entry-level focus.

Oct 21 2025

Facebook Jobs is returning with stricter rules and an entry-level focus. The platform is reviving job listings in the U.S. by building it into Marketplace, with spillover into relevant Groups and Business Pages—which is no doubt linked to young adults’ affinity for Marketplace hunting. It also aligns with how Facebook says Gen Z finds flexible work through community hubs, by focusing on local, entry level, service, and trade roles. The feature relaunch follows a zigzag history: it was first introduced in 2017, expanded to 40+ countries in 2018, scaled back to the U.S. and Canada in 2022, and then shut down fully in 2023. But now, Meta also says it has tightened its discrimination policy after prior ad misuse that excluded candidates by gender or religion. For Gen Z, this is yet another way Facebook has become what Craigslist was for Millennials, turning neighborhood groups into job pipelines. (The Verge)
