The Youth Mental Health Corps program wants to increase support access for struggling young people.

May 24 2024

The Youth Mental Health Corps program wants to increase support access for struggling young people. A new initiative supported by funding between the Schultz Family Foundation and Pinterest is aiming to address the mental health needs of young people. The program will offer access to mental health care for those who need it and provide training and hands-on experience for those interested in pursuing a career in mental health. According to a recent CDC report, 29% of high school students have reported experiencing poor mental health, with another 22% having seriously considered attempting suicide. To address this crisis, the program will launch this month, deploying hundreds of trained peer mental health workers directly into schools and community organizations. (Teen Vogue)
