Berlin’s techno scene is now a UNESCO heritage. During the 1980s, Berlin emerged as a leading center of the techno subculture, and in recent years it became a global clubbing destination for Gen Z and Millennials. Now, the German Commission for UNESCO voted to incorporate Berlin’s nightlife into the “intangible cultural heritage” of the country. Data from YPulse’s WE Nightlife and Drinking report shows that 38% of young German people go to nightclubs monthly or more. (The Local)
