More than half of parents financially support their adult children.

Mar 15 2024

More than half of parents financially support their adult children. Some parents are being put in a tough position by this as they report 61% of adult children living at home do not contribute to household expenses at all. Sometimes, parents are assisting with rent, groceries, and phone bills, even sacrificing their own finances to help the majority of Gen Z that live at home. And with Quartz estimating parents help their Gen Z adult kids cover an average of three bills, sometimes they are supplying an extra minimum of $609, just for one child in their household. (Newser)

📊 YPulse data: 47% of 18-24-year-olds are still financially dependent on their parents
