Snapchat is getting into the party-planning business. “Snapchat Plans” is a new set of features designed to help users create, share, and manage in-person events. Users can send and receive invitations and keep all of the important details—like the time, location, and guest list—all in one place. There’s also a new “My Plans” section that lets users see their current, upcoming, and past events, while visiting a friend’s profile will show the Plans they have in common. It’s no doubt a response to how Partiful has become prolific as Gen Z’s go-to platform for planning get-togethers, similar to Apple launching “Invites” last year to help users create and share custom invitations. And as Gen Z continues looking for more ways to connect IRL, brands have a chance to play a bigger role in helping young people actually get together. (TechCrunch)
