For some young people, wellness is social. According to a user survey from ClassPassβ€”a platform that lets users book classes at different gyms and studios without memberships to each oneβ€”18-34-year-olds are using workouts as hangouts far more than older users. Classes are a spot for them to feel connected to an in-person community with similar lifestyles and values, or to use as motivation to stick to their own. They’re also more likely than older users to forgo a night at the bar in favor of a class, or invite a friend to meet for a workout in lieu of a restaurant. ClassPass data even points to a potential for wellness experiences to compete with traditional nightlife as young people merge them: in 2025, 7-11 p.m. reservations on Friday and Saturdays had twice as much attendance as in 2023.Β (Forbes)
