Gen Z prioritizes product quality more than some think. According to new data from Morning Consult, 80% of Gen Z shoppers said product quality makes them loyal to a brand, followed by customer experience (72%) and brand transparency (65%). While younger gens are often viewed as only going after the best price, dupe, or trend, the numbers show that they’re looking to spend their cash on products or brands that feel higher-end, durable, and truly worth it. (Though that can mean a dupe!) Another 58% of Gen Z said that the quality of materials or ingredients is the number one marker of a luxury brand—not the name. As YPulse data also shows, some of the “luxury” labels Gen Z most wants to own aren’t super high-end. The key is that their products are durable and tend to outlive trend cycles, making young shoppers feel like they’re truly picking out an investment piece. (Ad Age)
