McDonald’s just launched beaded drink carriers. For its new lineup of refreshers and sodas debuting today, McDonald’s announced six limited-edition beaded drink carriers created by NYC designer Susan Alexandra. They’re macrame-esque, handled, and colorful to become a full-on accessory, and are shoppable online. They are steeply priced between $42-58 (though they come with a $10 gift card), but considering Gen Z doesn’t mind spending a little extra money on “little treats,” that might not be a dealbreaker. Between the cutesy carriers and new dirty soda-inspired menu, McDonald’s is leaning into the treat-drink culture to capture young consumers’ attention. As Gen Z’s longtime favorite fast food chain, McDonald’s seems to be revamping its product lineup to stay relevant with younger gens. (Food & Wine)
