Gen Z fundraises in more ways and more often than other gens. A new survey from GoFundMe and the GivingTuesday Data Commons found that upwards of 70% of Gen Z said they gave in some form in the last week alone, versus 65% of other adults. Gen Z is also more likely to donate money despite being more likely to have lower incomes or be unemployed. This habit is largely inspired by others—60% of Gen Z said family or other people in their lives shape their donation habits, compared to 45% of other adults. They’re also more likely than older gens to show public support for a cause, financially or otherwise. YPulse data shows that Gen Z cares strongly about social causes, especially human rights and mental health. Our 2026 Causes/Charity & Activism report found that 78% of 13-24-year-olds think they can make a difference by getting involved in social good / charity work. (Business Wire)
