Gen Z is using social media to search for scholarships. A new study from Sallie found that 68% of Gen Z students have used TikTok to find academic scholarships, and one in five students search for scholarships on the social platform at least once a week. It turns out the strategy works for many: 62% of students on the scholarship hunt found opportunities on TikTok. Nearly one in 10 students even won at least one scholarship they applied for after finding it there. School websites, student portals, and scholarship search websites are still more commonly used for sourcing than TikTok. But this habit shows that students trust personal success stories when searching for scholarships, and there are plenty of those on TikTok. However, there is also lots of misinformation on the social platform—and only 27% of students say they always verified TikTok scholarship information before applying. (ContentGrip)
