Gen Z is using AI regularly, but feeling less optimistic about it. As young adults struggle to break through entry-level jobs and gain strong financial footing, it seems their relationshipwith AI tools is growing more complicated. A new Gallup survey found that 14-29-year-olds who said they feel hopeful about AI dropped to 18% this year compared to 27% last year. But at the same time, young people are increasingly using AI in their day-to-day lives, with just under 20% of respondents saying they do not use AI. YPulse data shows that even as AI becomes ingrained in young people’s daily lives, over half are concerned that the technology’s impact on their critical thinking skills and the environment. They do appreciate when AI tools make their lives easier and improve utility, but not when it is used to replace real human interactions. (NYT)
