The Salvation Army launched Roblox’s first thrift store. Found inside other popular Roblox games, the “Thrift Score” is aiming to show young players the draw of secondhand shopping even before they may ever start in the real world. We know that Gen Z loves thrifting not only for the price, but the chance to find something no one else has and express their personal style. The virtual thrift hopes to have the same appeal—players can “uncover” items at discount prices (and we know Robux spending is no joke) and even get limited-edition items inspired by secondhand fashion, made in collaboration with popular gamers. Plus, the spending players do will go toward The Salvation Army’s charitable efforts, just as it does in real life. (PR Newswire)
