According to HM Revenue & Customs, a record number of young people are now earning over £1M annually, with total earnings in the billions, up 11% over the year before. While some of those high earners are still upper echelon—today’s biggest athletes, musicians, and actors—data from Lubbock Fine shows a growing share are digital creators benefiting from the rise in social media advertising spend. Algorithms have made it possible to scale visibility and income at a speed that wasn’t possible before. But that same speed comes with risk.
