Gen Z men want kids, maybe even more than Gen Z women do. A 2023 Pew poll found 57% of 18-34-year-old men want children someday, compared to 45% of women in the same age group. But a more recent 2025 Young Men Research Project survey found it’s even higher: 63% of 18-29-year-old men said having kids was important. They also found political correlations with this: among male Trump voters, fatherhood ranked as the single most important factor in a successful life, ahead of career or financial independence. However, majorities on both sides of the aisle (76% Republican, 58% Democrat) said having kids is important to them. YPulse data shows fatherhood isn’t quite as certain a goal, though: YPulse data shows 31% of 18-29-year-old males want children, while 23% say they are currently not interested but might be in the future.
