Public feeds are out; the “cozy web” is in. Young consumers are posting less and less on their main grids—which we’ve said before. Instead, they’re keeping friends posted on Discord servers, private Story lists, and niche newsletters—smaller spaces built on trust rather than performance. Many now keep two versions of themselves online: one curated public persona and one semi-private account where they can be real. YPulse data shows while social platforms remain the top place 18-24-year-olds find that connection, they’re also most likely to say social media makes them feel worse about themselves. Private spaces offer belonging without the performance of a post anyone can view weeks or months later. (AdAge)
