A Bachelor alum just went viral with a 27-part TikTok romance scam series. In it, Onyeka Ehie breaks down her whirlwind romance she dubbed “The Danish Deception,” where her “Calvin Klein ad” scammer played her for over $300K. He said he was Danish royalty and an Olympian, which felt real at first as he paid for everything, from expensive dinners to trips in Monaco and St. Tropez. Within five months, they were married. But, like other viral dating scam stories in Netflix’s The Tinder Swindler, he’d already scammed her, her friends, and her family by the time she discovered the truth: their money was fueling his gambling addiction. (And the fact that he was neither an Olympian or royalty.) And just like other viral series on TikTok, she pulled in millions of views from audiences following it like a real documentary or reality show—because for Gen Z, TikTok is TV. (Her Campus)
