Pringles brought a ’90s commercial back, but with Gen Z’s unhinged vibe.

Pringles brought a ’90s commercial back, but with Gen Z’s unhinged vibe. Pringles has revived its iconic “Once You Pop, The Fun Don’t Stop” tagline—which Ipsos data showed 69% of consumers still recognize—and updated it to “Once You Pop, The Pop Don’t Stop.” The first new spot, “The Duck King,” is bringing in the updated humor by taking the classic snacking behavior of making duck lips with two chips and pushing it to absurdist extremes: having ducks crown a guy and flying him away to serve Dill Pickle Pringles. The brand’s executive creative director said the goal was “an unhinged place that mirrors Gen Z’s feed,” and still leaning into their “flavor-forward roots.” After all, pickle-flavored snacks have blown up with Gen Z on TikTok. The timing is strategic, too: Pringles’ parent company is being acquired by Mars for $36B, so winning Gen Z now means securing the brand’s future under new ownership. (Marketing Dive)
