Starbucks employees are going viral for…getting laid off. This week, Starbucks announced the closure of around 400 stores all at once, leaving employees shocked, upset, and often with very little notice of a massive change. And while the brand says some baristas will be relocated rather than losing their job entirely, some shared they had only days before they found out which was their fate. Across the country, employees posted heartfelt goodbyes with coworkers and some messages of disdain for CEO Brian Nichols’ announcement—with a few getting more than a million views. In the comments, others commiserated, but some also gave advice to use up PTO while they could. Some consumers are taking note of this emotional viral moment, sharing frustration for corporations letting employees go while the job market is difficult in the comments. (Yahoo)
