Chipotle is launching a new spicy sauce aimed at Gen Z tastes. Brands have been taking note of the young gen’s inclination toward spicy foods—whether it’s Popeyes collab with Hot Ones or Taco Bell’s with Mike’s Hot Honey. Now, Chipotle is introducing a $1 add-on red chimichurri sauce, which will be available for only a limited time. This temporary, change-up-their-order strategy seems to be working for the brand, too. Chipotle saw a success with an Adobo Ranch in June; the brand says 46% of customers who bought it were “new,” or hadn’t been to the chain in at least two months. And what’s more, the Adobo Ranch buyers were 20% more likely to be Gen Z than the average customer. So, they’re certainly hoping this new spice has the same effect. (CNN)
