Teens and tweens want to see movies in theaters. While their favorite entertainment franchises come from platforms they access at home like video games and shows on streaming, young gens view movie theaters as a more novel experience. A recent NRG study shows 59% of the under 15-year-old crowd enjoys movies in theaters more than watching them at home—a notable increase over older gens, all of whom had less than half say the same. For young Gen Z and Gen Alpha, time without phones and sharing a moment with a crowd is the more exciting viewing when they’ve picked their own streaming content minute-by-minute their whole lives. They’re also more likely than older viewers to want to go in large groups, and they’re hype for opening weekends and sing-alongs. (Puck)
