The trend plays on the idea that someone who’d be considered most attractive in New York is different than in Miami, LA, or other big cities. Users caption their videos, “got bored and decided to turn myself into a [insert city here] 10” with the trending song “Candy” by Foxy Brown playing in the background, and transition from no makeup to a look that would make them a “certified baddie” in that city. One video of a girl turning herself into an “LA 10” using glam makeup and tons of blush has over 7M views. And while there are plenty of genuine glow up tutorials floating around, some young women have added humor to the trend, like one girl turning herself into a “San Francisco 10” with thick socks and clogs, making fun of the city’s “tech startup style,” gaining over 355K views.
