Love Island USA asked the internet to stop cyberbullying islanders after a surge of negative comments.

Jul 02 2025

Love Island USA asked the internet to stop cyberbullying islanders after a surge of negative comments. The Gen Z-loved reality series addressed it directly in a recent episode and followed up with an Instagram post urging fans to be kind, reminding viewers that islanders are real people with real lives outside the villa. While some light teasing is a sort of right-of-passage on the show, and Gen Z fans have been the main gen fueling the hate online, many young viewers think things have crossed a line this season—especially with islander Huda, whose parenting and personal life have been dragged through the mud on TikTok. Other cast members like Ace, Cierra, and Iris are also facing body-shaming and appearance-related criticism from young fans, with one video negatively commenting on Iris’ looks having over 2M views. Behind the scenes, the show does have mental health policies in place—like therapy sessions and social media training—but the emotional toll of non-stop online judgment once they leave the villa is still very real.
