L’Oréal’s upcoming partnership with WhatsApp will let users text their AI tool.“Beauty Genius” AI is designed to give consumers personalized skincare, haircare, and makeup advice. After the tool quietly launched on the L’Oréal Paris site last fall, it’s already held nearly half a million convos, and starting in early 2026, it’ll be accessible through WhatsApp. (We told you WhatsApp was becoming social media!) It’s part of L’Oréal’s bigger push into beauty tech, aiming to make expert-backed advice available 24/7. Unlike AI tools like ChatGPT or Google Overviews, which can sometimes serve up unreliable info, the brand says Beauty Genius pulls from L’Oréal’s own research to answer questions and recommend only their products. The timing makes sense as more and more young people are turning to conversational tools for help: according to YPulse, 60% of teens and 35% of young adults like to see AI used for providing personalized recommendations.
