Coca-Cola is the latest brand encouraging Gen Z to unplug. The “Enjoy the Moment with a Coca-Cola” campaign centers on two cinematic ads directed by Megaforce, tapping into the major advertainment trend we’ve been seeing. (Which Coca-Cola has been doing, like in their long-form “Westside’s Finest” ad.) In “Road Trip,” a college senior overwhelmed by post-grad uncertainty spontaneously reconnects with old friends—and crosses paths with pop star Tyla, whose new single “Bliss” is the soundtrack of the video. The second ad, “Pool Party,” paints a picture of summer where simply being present—with a Coke in hand—leads to surprising connection. To match, Coca-Cola is launching a “Summer Scratch-Off” sweepstakes that gives fans a chance to win their own custom road trip experiences—to log out with friends themselves. (Ad Age)
