European Gen Z are more likely to be fired than older gens. It’s no secret that Gen Z is struggling with a shaky job market, high-living costs, and stagnant wages. And now, they’re facing a workforce that’s firing them at higher rates than any other generation. According to a Survey by ResumeBuilder, one in eight managers say they fire Gen Z more frequently than other age groups, citing communication issues, resistance to feedback, and lack of preparation for the professional environments they’re entering. But for young people just trying to survive, the ways of professionalism that older gens are used to may not be a priority above simply meeting their needs, leading to friction (and more firing) in the workplace.
