New York Millennial dads started a club to bond with each other and their babies. In a heartwarming twist on New York’s social scene, the Brooklyn Stroll Club is creating a much-needed space for young fathers to connect. Founded by Joe Gonzales, a first-time dad seeking friends in the same life stage, the club now draws over 30 fathers and their babies for regular meetups. It’s even evolved into a community with Discord channels and branded merch—bringing more dads into the fold. Many new fathers in the group say this is a much-needed resource, as they report feeling alone and unprepared when they first have children, lacking the support networks that mothers often develop. YPulse’s Parenting data shows 86% of young dads agree, “I like when people are honest about how hard it is to be a parent,” so spaces where they can be open are clearly welcomed. (NYT)
