Most young people in France want their country to spend more on defense, and some are even ready for war. The ongoing war in Ukraine is making French Gen Z think about defense issues, and according to a recent survey, 75% are in favor of an increase of the Defense budget. Plus, it’s making them more open on conscription. Half of young French people are willing to join the military if France were involved in an open conflict, and 32% support the return of mandatory military service. But despite French Gen Z’s willingness to help with the conflict, most would rather have support roles over combat positions, and only 5% are currently considering a military career. (CharenteLibre)
