Coca-Cola is entering the prebiotic soda market with Simply Pop. The soda giant is taking on younger brands like OLIPOP and Poppi with its new line of gut-healthy drinks, and it’s clearly a move hoping to resonate with Gen Z. Despite Gen Z’s strong love for soda, they’re increasingly turning to alternative drinks to satisfy their need for a “little treat,” especially after growing up hearing all about the dangers of sugary beverages. And while Coca-Cola already has a strong hold on these consumers, ranking as their number one favorite beverage brand according to YPulse, more young people reporting their interest in healthy soda options makes it a huge market opportunity.
