Naomi Girma has become the most expensive female footballer in history at just 24-years-old. Born in California to Ethiopian parents, Girma developed a passion for football (soccer) thanks to her father’s encouragement and rose through the ranks: she played for Stanford University before being drafted first overall into the NWSL in 2022.
