TikTok Shop brought in over $100M on Black Friday, and livestreams played a big part. Over 30K livestreams ran on Friday and it looks like it was as successful as TikTok hoped, as the app has been pushing creators to go live ahead of the holiday shopping season. The stream for Canvas Beauty alone pulled in over 100K sales and more than $3M. Beauty, fashion, and home products were the most popular Black Friday categories on TikTok Shop—and major brands like Maybelline, Fenty Beauty, and even Phillips electronics had sales on the platform. This is another milestone in TikTok’s push for social livestream shopping to go mainstream in the U.S., as Bytedance’s Chinese sister app Douyin has made billions of dollars in sales with a heavy focus on live shopping.
