eBay just got a major Gen Z makeover.

Nov 18 2024

eBay just got a major Gen Z makeover. The “Ebay evo” for the site’s user experience (UX) has been a long time coming but has turned into a rebrand even reaching their classic color palette. Among the biggest changes so far are redesigning almost half of the site’s most visited parts, as the total 15 generate 98% of the site’s activity. Across pages like the main search and product listings, users will find more white space, bigger images, less sidebar interruption, and round corners—all because they found users want less “noise.” Now, the site has a visual appeal similar to resale sites like StockX, which may have more Gen Z attention than the nearly 30-year-old Ebay. Its overall theme is more “humanist design,” whether that’s making images pop with more than a plain white background or removing the number of products already sold in a listing from the search result preview to push less text.
