A new dating app is mashing up Instagram and Hinge for Gen Z. Cheers is hoping to draw in young daters (who are infamously dating app-fatigued) with a more personal approach. Rather than being connected to “random people,” Cheers users will be set up on dates by friends. Like a social media platform, users can post pictures and tag people in them, allowing their other contacts to spot people they might be interested in through mutual friends and message accordingly. Currently, the app is New York City-focused, invite-only, and exclusive to South Asian people—but it’s one to keep an eye on. (Fast Company)
