Young people will be getting inspo online then shopping in-person this holiday season. Experian reports that 47% of all consumers in the U.S. are planning to shop at physical stores this holiday season, with in-person shopping ranking as the top choice for Gen Z, Millennials, and Boomers. However, Gen Z still primarily gets their shopping inspo from social media before heading to stores for the final purchase. Additionally, 36% of both Gen Z and Millennial shoppers plan to spend more than they spent last year, with some beginning their holiday shopping as early as October. This year, the top items Gen Z is heading out to buy include clothes, personal care, and beauty products, while Millennials are focusing on putting their holiday budget toward experiences.
