Research shows the best ways for parents of Gen Z to support their kids as a new school year begins. For many pre-teens and teens, this period brings significant changes, including new routines, classes, and evolving friendships. A Gallup study revealed that this gen of kids, particularly girls, feel pressure to be perfect, leading to increased anxiety, and about two thirds of Gen Z youth worry about the future. Knowing this generational tilt toward the anxious, teen psychologist Lisa Damour encourages parents to remind their children that they don’t need to strive for perfection especially, as perfectionism was one of the top worries among 10-18-year-olds found in the survey.
