The BBC created 24 fictional accounts to understand misinformation on social media better. Ahead of the general election on July 4 in the U.K., the BBC started the Undercover Voters project to research how political misinformation spreads on social media. On the main social media platforms across different regions in the country, the results show that misinformation is particularly prominent on TikTok.
