Nestlé is releasing a lineup of frozen foods for people on weight loss drugs. The sudden rise of GLP-1 drugs (like Ozempic, Wegovy, etc.) has created a new market opportunity for companies, especially food brands. Nestlé’s new frozen food brand Vital Pursuit caters specifically to people taking Ozempic and other weight loss medications by offering meals that are high in protein and fiber and catering to adjusted portion sizes. It should be noted the brand already owns Lean Cuisine—a frozen food brand also focused on diet-friendly meals—but the line is “seen as old-school.” So, the new one “is positioned as a much more scientific approach with an emphasis on nutrition and balance,” appealing to the new wellness trends.
