A growing number of consumers are embracing digital wallets. Nearly 51% of U.S. consumers are interested in using digital wallet storage features, but the majority of baby boomers (78%) are not interested in storing documents on their devices. There is increased enthusiasm among younger consumers for using digital wallets to store documents: 49% of Gen Z and 51% of Millennials are highly interested. Apart from shopping, digital wallets provide functions to enhance users’ convenience, such as securely storing essential documents like driver’s licenses, passports, and event tickets, potentially streamlining the practices of older gens.
