Over half of young Americans say they are not getting enough sleep. In a recent Gallup poll, 57% of young people reported that they would feel better if they got more sleep, whereas 42% state that they’re satisfied with the amount of sleep they get. These variations in typical sleep patterns highlight significant shifts in the percentage of American adults sleeping eight hours or more compared to those sleeping five hours or less per night. In general, people 65-and-older are more inclined to get the required amount of sleep compared to younger gens.
