Nearly half of Gen Z prefer user-generated content to streaming services. A survey of 3K online consumers discovered that 47% of Gen Z expressed a preference for watching social videos and live streams over traditional and modern TV programs, which only 24% favored. Because of this preference, more than half of Gen Z and Millennials have cancelled streaming service subscriptions within the past few months. But one of the biggest trends now within the streaming world is consumers preferring more personalized recommendations, which centering will require the industry “reinventing the medium to be more personalized, more shoppable and more social,” catering to specific gens on different platforms.
