Young people everywhere are struggling to be happy.

Mar 21 2024

Young people everywhere are struggling to be happy. Since 2017, there has been a shift in the trend for happiness levels among different age groups in the U.S., with older gens now reporting higher levels of happiness than those aged 15-to-24—after 12 years of the opposite pattern. Experts are comparing the way young people are feeling to the effects of a mid-life crisis, and many are targeting social media as a major red flag. Though the cause for changes in happiness cannot be specifically appointed as of now, social media use, concerns about income inequalities, the housing crisis, and fears related to war and climate change all tie in to why they are feeling this way.
