The EU wants to ban single-use plastic by 2030. Packaging waste in Europe has increased by over 20% in the past decade due to online shopping and “on the go” habits, so the European Union is planning a new law to reduce packaging waste. The bill includes bans on single-use plastic items like disposable plates and cups as well as “forever chemicals” in food contact packaging—something the British government did last year. (Reuters)
