A flash survey by Numerator shows a whopping 20% of Superbowl viewers rooted for the Kansas City Chiefs just because of Swift’s relationship with Travis Kelce. And while a third of those surveyed agree that they see Swift as a “distraction for the NFL,” she’s likely driving the league’s increasing popularity with younger generations. Young people aren’t the big lovers of live television events their parents were, but a ton are engaged in music fandoms (Swifties are naturally a major one) and celeb culture, which made this team win a huge win for the league overall.
