YouTube will display authentic medical information at the top of search results.

Jan 17 2024

YouTube will display authentic medical information at the top of search results. Users looking for reliable emergency first aid tutorials will receive quick and simple videos from credited organizations to avoid scrolling through a sea of potentially incorrect sources. The feature aims to facilitate faster searches for life-saving information and enhance accessibility to health-related content on the platform. In partnership with the American Heart Association, YouTube will also offer a free CPR course, as well as other partnered content on how to stop bleeding and how to help someone who is overdosing—including structured learning videos that are accessible to viewers without a medical background. YPulse’s Who’s The Expert? trend report shows young people are more likely to say they don’t trust that information they see on social media is accurate than they are to trust it—which is why they want more brands to partner with certified professionals.
