Discrimination against people of African descent is increasing in Europe. A recent study by the EU’s Agency for Fundamental Rights found that racism has increased in the last five years, affecting almost half of the Black population in the region. The survey revealed significant issues with underpayment, temporary work contracts, and high rates of housing discrimination, as well as physical assault and psychological distress among Black people in Europe. Young Europeans are aware of racism in their region, and it’s the social issue they’re most passionate about this year according to YPulse’s data. (Bloomberg)
