The TikTok viral blog Girlhood is resonating with today’s teenage girls. Started by 17-year-old Mia Sugimoto and her best friend Sophia Rundle, the blog intends to connect teen girls through the universal experiences of girlhood (hence the blog’s name). The girls explain that their website aims to act as a space for girls of all ages to give and get advice from each other, and that they wanted the blog to have “an older sister kind of vibe.” And after posting a video about Girlhood on TikTok, they amassed 1.5M likes, 7.5M views, and 85.7K followers. As YPulse data has long shown that young people value their online communities, spaces like Girlhood are primed to thrive once they show up on the right social media feeds (Mashable)
