Chobani is using augmented reality (AR) on their new Halloween-themed yogurt packaging. The company is ringing in the fall holiday season with the release of seasonal packaging for their yogurts including skeletons, witches, and black cats. Each container (and in-store display) features a scannable QR code that consumers can use to access an AR Trick-or-Treat experience on mobile devices. Through the AR feature, users can win digital and real-life “treats” including phone screensavers, keychains, and hats. YPulse research shows that Halloween is a huge social media event amongst Gen Z and Millennials, where they love to show off their merch online. (Adweek)
