Gen Alpha kids are being labeled “honey badgers” by parents.

Aug 31 2023

Gen Alpha kids are being labeled “honey badgers” by parents. This young gen—whose age varies in definition—is becoming known for their sharp tongues and being “unafraid of defying authority,” similar to the animal they share a nickname with. This name trend began with a TikTok user who says that her kids (along with other Gen Alpha kids) “are built different,” and have little concern for rules. Other parents of this age cohort have posted videos to this user’s point of their children being honey badgers, including holding live raccoons and chasing bears. YPulse research shows that Gen Alpha children are being raised differently from other young gens due to factors such as growing up during the COVID-19 pandemic and trends like gentle parenting.
