Estée Lauder is looking to generative artificial intelligence to stay ahead of consumer trends.The company is teaming with Google Cloud to increase their use of AI applications, helping them to “monitor consumer feedback in real-time,” as well as utilize Google Cloud’s Vertex AI to increase the efficiency of internal operations. PaLM 2, the language model that the beauty company will work with, will examine consumer feedback through social media and call centers. The CEO of Google Cloud says that as the beauty industry evolves “there are heightened consumer expectations[,] ever-changing trends and a shift to personalization,” which the integration of this AI is intended to assist brands in keeping up with. YPulse’s AI Unpacked trend report shows that the majority of Gen Z and Millennials are comfortable with brands using AI, more than those who are uncomfortable with its use. (Marketing Dive)
